Emergency call: Earthquake in Venezuela

Just hours ago, two of the strongest earthquakes to strike Venezuela in more than a century hit the country just seconds apart. The full extent of the devastation is still unfolding, and the number of people affected is expected to rise.

Homes, critical infrastructures and essential services have been severely damaged. Search and rescue operations are ongoing as communities continue to face the threat of aftershocks.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is supporting affected people. Right now, Venezuelan Red Cross teams are assessing the most urgent needs and are providing emergency assistance to the victims.

Natural disasters strike without warning. With your support, the Red Cross can provide emergency medical care, safe drinking water, shelter and other lifesaving assistance to those who need it most.
